I have a craftsman 13953681srt. The track broke earlier today and I put it back together now it seems like it is running in reverse. Will not go down all way and will not go up all way.
When you took it apart you might of moved the chain. First lets find on the side of the unit you will find two adjusting screws that are inset in the opener. These are the travel adjustments. One is for up travel and one for down. Make sure you know the difference before you adjust. You will need a flat head screw driver for this next part. Put the door up and find the UP travel. Turn the screw 1/2 turn WITH the arrow and try it again. It should go further down than it had. For farther down travel keep adjusting with arrow, less, opposite the arrow. Same thing for the down travel.
If this does not help then you have more than likely put the chain on opposite of the way it was when you took it off. If this is true unplug the unit and take the screws out of the metal motor casing. Unplug the unit. Look at the white screws you were adjusting. Take the chain off and out of the way. Plug it back in and run it until the copper fitting on the middle adjustment screw is in the middle of its run. Unplug again. Adjust the two outer screws until they are 90% or so towards the ends of their adjustments. PLug the unit back in. Now from the BACK of the unit looking down run the opener If it goes clockwise wait until it is done, if it goes counter clockwise run it again and it should run clockwise. Now make sure the door is all the way in the down position and hook the chain back up. Now the settings are back to where they need to be. Adjust like the instructions say at the beginning. I would do it with the casing off to make sure it is right. Keep your hands out of the way. When all is complete do a 2x4 safety reversal test. Thanks BBMember
