Garage door opener will not operate. Have power. Not overload protector in motor.

Model 139-53962SRT. Installed shaft. While adjusting door height opening and closing, I ran the door up to high. Motor shut down. I waited 1/2 hour & it still does not work. When pressing a remote, the yellow light on the right side (next to the force controls) illuminates but the motor does not start. Also tried it again after 10 hours and still does not work so it does not seem to be the overload protection on the motor. What other trouble shooting steps can I take?

If the opener went too high and either bottomed out on the motor head or the up limit bolt on the rail then here is what you do. The opener is still trying to go up and can't so loosen the chain and take the chain off the sprocket. Move the chain down enough to clear the top and reinstall. Now adjust the up travel down so it will not go up as far. Unplug the unit for 15 minutes before trying again. Make sure the force limits are adjusted correctly. If this does not work then you might need a new logic board. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
