Both gar. door openers quit same time. 1 flashes 5 times. Unplugging no help. #2 closes & bows rail.

Both are Model #139.53910 & 4 years old. Suspect lightening strike. #1 opener only clicks & doesn't operate. #2 hits pad and continues to push & hum as rail bows until opened. Adjusting limit switches hasn't helped. #2 wall button light is out.

More than likely you need new openers, or at the very least new logic boards. On the one that bows unhook it from the door and run the door to make sure the door is not the problem. The only other thing the 5 flash opener problem could be is that is is stuck on the top travel bolt. It is on the rail and will be the only bolt going through the rail. The trolley will be tight on it. To fix take out this bolt and adjust the up travel down so it does not go up so far. Most of the time if you get a technician out there for a service call it includes all work up to 30 minutes and these problems could be fixed in this time if you have the boards already. Or new ones should be 500.00 or so. Thanks BB

The door moves freely on the one that bows the rail when closing, so I'll replace the logic board. The opener that clicks and with 5 flashes has never opened since the event that caused the problems, so the trolly can't be stuck on the up stoke. Should I change out the logic board since unplugging didn't reset the RPM sensor?

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
