Sears garage door model 139.53859 won't work after power failure. Light bulb works but not motor.

Craftsman garage door opener #139.53859. Lost power, storm last nite, Closed door manually w/ rope release. Power returned, hit wall switch, motor does not run, light bulb turns on & off, green light on back of housing blinks. Pulled straight down on rope to re-engage, tried swithch again, nothing. Circuit breakers are ok. Hear a click in the motor, when hit wall switch, no action.

Do you have a surge protector on this unit. It has circuit boards just like a computer. It needs to have a surge protector 900 joules or higher on it. It sounds like you need a new logic board. This is the brains of the unit. If you were to look at it you would probably see a black mark on it. You can get one at sears.com. They have help to order by phone, e-mail or chat. Have the model # ready. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
