Does the 1/2 hp garage opener model (139.53615SR) man.date (1992) have saftey sensors (41A3615)

Im trying to install safety sensors on my 1/2 hp craftsman garage door opener model (139.53615SR) manufacture date 3/92. The safety sensors model number 41A3615 says prior to 1997 so will these work? Ive read that they will only work on 1993-1997 manufacture dates, is this correct? Thanks alot

The schematics to this machine says that it can be installed. You should have 4 wires on the back of the unit. The red and white should give constant power to the wall station. You should wire the safety sensors to the black and the white terminals. The wall station and the sensors will have a common ground on the white terminal. The sensors are polarized so pay attention to the colors of the bell wires on the sensors. If you want instructions go to managemyhome.com and click on the manuals option and put in the model # for a download and pictures. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
