I am enlarging my driveway a bit. I want to install decomposed granite on the left side of the driveway so that I can park my trailer there. How do i install it?
The decomposed granite is normally mixed with resin or another substance to form a composite that is similar to asphalt. A contractor that is experienced in paving with this type of stone should install a decomposed granite driveway extension.
The area being paved with decomposed granite should be graded to drain properly. Standing water can result in premature erosion of a decomposed granite driveway. The area to be paved must normally be layered with a base of compacted crushed granular road base. The decomposed granite and resin mixture would then be spread. The bonding substance in some decomposed granite mixtures can be activated with water. The area would be thoroughly watered and then compacted with a roller.Member
