13953985 garage door opener. Won't respond to remote and won't re-learn remotes. Otherwise fine.Fix?

Unit worked fine for over a year. It's for my wife's car. Need to fix fast... Thanks for any ideas. jwp

If you pressed the learn button and then the remote button, and you are sure there are new batteries in the unit, then the logic board is faulty, or you are receiving interfearence. Either way you either need a new logic board or an external receiver. You can get one at sears.com. Make sure and protect the unit with a surge protector 900 joules or higher. Thanks BB

This is good. I don't have the manual, but assume the "learn" button is the one on the motor. I did that and tried to connect per instructions on the motor. where is the logic board and is that an expensive item or am I better off replacing the entire system?

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
