My garage door opened at 4:15 a.m. last night. Is there a way to defeat the rolling code?

Model 139.53920D is what I have. No exterior touch pads. The garage door mysteriously opened as all users with openers were asleep in the home.

There is no way to turn off the receiver on the unit.

This unit protects against this unless some one actually has a remote that has been coded into the machine, or sometimes people put a remote some where that it press on it in a drawer or something. Check for this first. So lets make sure no one has this ability.

There is a purple colored learn button on the motor unit that can be pushed. Press and hold this until the led light by it goes out.

Then press it again briefly and then press the button on the remote. The light bulb will flash once to let you know it is set. Do this paragraph for all remotes.

To set the keypad press the learn button and then press the 4 digit code followed by the up/down button. Again the light bulb will flash. Wait 2 minutes and try everything.

If it still has the problem then you have a problem with your logic board and it needs replaced. This is the only two things it can be.

This 315mhz really should not be prone to this type of problem. If it is still under warranty then contact the manufacturer. The only thing not covered on the warranty is lightning damage or power surges. The best way to protect yourself from this is to use a surge protector on the unit, 900 joules or higher. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
