I recently replaced sprocket assembly on a Craftsman garage door opener, but the garage door will not open more that halfway. I’ve done the adjustments that were instructed in the owner’s manual, but with no luck. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
You might need to replace the rpm sensor too. It is on the back of the motor and spins round. There really is no way to test at home, other than if you have a five blink then definitely. Also look at the travel screws on the inside. They are 3 white plastic screws on the bottom. Sometimes they get knocked off or damaged when replacing the gears. They travel up and down the screws until the copper pieces come in to contact and this stops it. The little star gear under the drive gear turns these adjustments. Make sure it is not skipping. Also look at the force adjustments. Make sure the are at least 50% but not all the way up. Do a 2x4 safety reversal test after all is done. Thanks BB
