The openers are in a home built in '98 - likely new then or since. The existing remote programs just fine, but we have only one and need more. Tried several new remotes from Sears, same part number, but they won't program or work. I've been thru the manual, installation instructions, online and phone help line. Can you help?
First lets erase all codes out and start from scratch. Find the colored learn button on the motor head. Press and hold this button until the led light goes out. This erases everything. //// Now press and release the learn button and then press the button on the remote. The light bulb will flash. This lets you know it is programmed. If the light bulb does not flash your remote is probably not good, or the battery is not good. For extra remotes follow directions from ////.
For a keyless entry press the learn button again and then press the 4 digit code followed by the up/down button. Again the light bulb should flash once. If these directions do not work or if one remote programs and then when you do another it loses it then you need another logic board. We recommend surge protectors on all openers, 900 joules or higher. Thanks BBMember
