How can I reprogram the frequency of my Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener?

Model # 139.53515SR Neighbor's opener is opening my garage door.

Well you can't actually change the frequency but you change the code inside the frequency that your opener operates at. This opener is the year that they offered two different types of programming. You will have to choose the one that opener uses.

1-Either on the back of the motor unit or inside the remote you will find little dip switches. These can be switched on or off. You can change this code on the motor and all remotes. These must match exactly.

2-You will find a colored learn button on the back or side of the motor unit. It will be the only button you can push on the unit. Press and hold this button until the led light by it goes out. This erases all codes from the unit. //// Now press the learn button again briefly and then press the button on the remote. The light bulb will flash once. This means your remote has been recoded.
