Do you have a diagram that can be emailed for reinstalling a spring? The spring is part number 110422X. The tractor is a model 917-254860.
It is a Craftsman lawn tractor model 917-254860. The part is the spring return for the brake pedal.

We don't have a diagram showing the attachment for the brake return spring. I think you can find where to attach it.
One end of the spring attaches to the tab on the brake shaft assembly that the 2 brake rods attach to. There is a hole in the tab the spring will go into. After one end of the spring is attached to the tab on the brake shaft assembly, move the other end of the spring toward the front of the tractor and look for a tab or hole in the frame to attach it to. The hole the spring goes in will be worn from the previous spring moving around in it. This is pretty easy to see. You will have to stretch the spring some to reach the attachment hole.Join this conversation.
