Answer itWhy won't the remotes on my garage door opener operate?
Expert Bob B answered. I checked voltage of both batteries in the remotes - tested 3 vdc. The LED light was off and watched the LED flicker using both remotes, but they will not operate the door. What does the flicker indicate?

Check to see if the lock is enabled on the wall unit of the garage door opener. If it is, then the remotes will not operate the door, only the wall unit will operate it. I provided the instructions for this lock feature from your owner's manual in the image below. If the lock is off and the garage door opener will not operate, then I recommend erasing all of the remote codes according to the instructions below and then reprogramming the remotes using the LEARN button on the motor unit to see if they will work properly. If the remotes have good batteries but will not program and operate properly, then you could have a problem with the logic board on the garage door opener or you could have bad remotes. We will be glad to continue to help you resolve this problem. Resubmit your question if you need more help after trying these steps. In case you need it, here is a link for the full copy of the owner's manual for your garage door opener (model 139.53960SRT): Owner's Manual
