Garage door will not operate using the remote. Tried reprogramming, did not work.
Model 139.53960 Craftsman 1/2 HP opener Remote # 139.53879 I must operate door by the switch since the remote does not work. Battery voltage is good. I tried to re-program by doing the instructions on the rear of the opener unit. It did not work. I do not know if the remote is bad or the unit itself. Help!

By the button you pushed you will find an led light.
If it is constantly on then you will need a new remote or an external receiver. Take the batteries out of the remotes and replace them one by one. Look at the led light if you put the battery in and the led lights up then that remote is bad and take the battery out. Try reprogramming the other remotes.If the led light is off when you look and when you press the button on the remote the light does not light up then you need an external receiver since the one on the logic board is not accepting the traffic. You will also need new remotes on the frequency the receiver is on. Or you can replace the logic board and the remotes will still work with it. Thanks BBJoin this conversation.
