I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener model # 139.5366SRT2. Recently, I changed the battery in one of the remote controls and tried to reprogram the opener following the instructions (for an opener with a Premium Control Console) in the Owner's Manual as I've done many times before. Even with a new battery, I'm unable to reprogram this opener to open the door. With the door closed, I simultaneously hold the remote control push button, the Light button on the door control and the door control push button. Instead of the opener light flashing as stated in the manual, the door opens! What am I doing wrong?
Lets try an alternate method. On the side of the motor you will find a door labeled control center. Behind this you will find a button on the bottom left that can be pushed. Push this colored button (the led light should flash) and then press the button on the remote. The light bulb should flash once. This is another way of coding the remote. If the led light is constantly on, you need to replace the logic board. If you press the remote button and the led light does not flicker then replace the battery again, if it still does not you need to replace the logic board. Thanks BB
