I have a craftsman 139.53910 opener that will not go down without holding the inside button down

when you use the remotes or push the inside button, it goes back up and the light flashes

This indicates that the sensors are misaligned or damaged. When you hold down the inside wall button you over ride this feature. There should be a light on each safety sensor that should be on. If one looks not aligned then line it back up. If they both are right then one might be damaged or the wire to it damaged. The next step is to replace the wire first(cheapest) minding that the wire is polarized(white to white-black to black...). If this does not fix the problem then replace the sensors. If still not fixed then the logic board is the next and final replacement. Make sure and do a 2x4 safety reversal test. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
