How do I reprogram a Sears keypad garage opener model 139.53776? I don't have the manual.

The previous owners used this keypad with the garage opener but didn't leave instructions to program it or the code they used. Can you tell me how to reprogram it? Sears model 139.53776, FCC ID HBW1D3502

First this would be a good time to replace all batteries in the devices.

Lets erase all old codes out of the unit first or the old code will still work. On the back or the side of the motor head you will find a colored learn button. It will be the only button on the machine you can press. Press and hold this button until the led light by it goes out. You have just erased the old codes.

////Now press this button again briefly and then press the button on the remote you want to run the opener. The light bulb will flash to tell you it was input. Do this paragraph for all remotes. For the keyless entry press the learn button again and then within 30 seconds press the 4 digit code you want on the keypad followed by the enter(up/down) button. Again the light bulb will flash. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
