This info is for vehicles equipped with Home Link. Some are a little different as far as the led flashes, but are generally alike.
There are 3 buttons on the car system. Hold the outer 2 until the led light stops flashing. Or it might just be a constant on until it goes out. This erases all factory test codes out. Take your remote and hold it 1" from the buttons on the car, press the button you want to operate the door out of the three on the car and at the same time press the button on the hand held remote that operates the door. The light on the car will flash rapidly when it has learned the frequency. Now that the car has learned the frequency it needs to learn your openers jump sequence. Go to the opener motor and find the learn button. It will be red or purple on yours and will be on the back or side of the unit. Press this button once and within 30 seconds press the same button on the car you programmed 3-4 times. The light bulb on the opener will flash once to tell you it has been completed. Press that button once more to test.Just to let you know these types of devices don't quite get the range of hand helds. Also you have to make a deliberate push on the button, alot harder than you might be used to with a hand held. Make sure and put the remote somewhere it won't accidently get pushed or lost.
