First make sure the door operates smoothly with out the opener hooked up. It should go up smoothly and stay at the top. And it should go down easy not slamming or having to push too hard.
Or this might be a force limit problem. On the back or side of the motor housing you will find adjustment screws that stick out of the housing. Not the ones that are inlayed. One indicates up and one down. Choose the up one and turn it the same way the arrow points which should be clockwise. Turn it 1/8 of a turn and try it, if not 1/8 turn again. Tha adjustment should never be all the way up. After all is done do a 2x4 safety reversal test. Thanks BBMember
