How do you reset Sear brand Motor unit of the garage opener?
I have old Sear brand garage opener and every time my neighbor open his garage open with the key pad and mine garage open also. How do I reset garage opener on motor unit...Old 80's sear model

First this would be a good time to replace all batteries.
There are 2 different kinds you need to see which one you have. Open the remote or look on the back of the motor do you see a set of on/off switches?If so your neighbor might have the same code you do. Simply change a couple of the ons with offs on these dip switches and match it exactly with the set on the motor. If not there is a colored learn button on the motor unit that can be pushed. Press and hold this until the led light by it goes out. Then press it briefly and then press the button on the remote. The light bulb will flash once to let you know it is set. Do this paragraph for all remotes.To set the keypad press the learn button and then press the 4 digit code followed by the up/down button. Again the light bulb will flash. Wait 2 minutes and try everything. Thanks BBJoin this conversation.
