How do I install the motor shaft bearing kit on my garage door opener?

In diagram 3 that comes with the kit, which bearing has the lip on it, D or F? Also, instructions state to push motor shaft as far as possible toward the bearing-collar assembly. Having done that and added the bearings and the collar with the 2 set screws, there is not enough room on the motor shaft for the plastic end cap (page 2, diagram 3). Any idea what I am doing wrong?

We need the model number of the garage door opener that you are working on in order to provide technical help on installing the motor shaft bearing kit. The model number should be on the motor unit. It is often under the light cover. Resubmit your question with the model number and the part number of the kit that you are installing and we should be able to help you with the installation.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
