Craftsman garage door opener will open from wall unit, but will not close with hand remote when leav

The garage door opener is model Craftsman 13953800SRT1/ The door will open from the wall remote, but when I leave the hand remote in my car will not close the door. I have the same problem with my outside will mounted remote, it will not close the door either. I have to close the door with the inside wall remote. When I come home, the had remote will open the door. What can I do to make the hand remote close the door when I leave.

If you just press the wall button and it goes down but not the remotes then it is the logic board.

But more than likely you have to hold the wall button down, right? If this is the case then there is something wrong with the safety sensors. By holding the wall button down you are bypassing the sensors. Look at the safety sensors there should be a light on each of them. They can be any color. Make sure and do not check them in direct sunlight. If one is not lit then they need to be aligned. You need to point them at each other not exactly but real close. If this does not fix it then you might have a bell wire problem, that wires the sensors to the motor, or it might have pulled out of the back of the sensor. It is not always the sensor that the light is not on that is not right, it might be the other one just as often. If still no luck you might need new sensors. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
