I have a Craftsman 12" bandsaw model 113.248320. I installed a new 1/4" blade. The blade will not stay on the top wheel when the blade tension is adjusted. Can you be of assistance?
The blade goes to the rear and on to the metal portion of the wheel. The saw will run but I feel this not a safe operation. Thanks.

You probably need to replace the tires on the wheels of the saw. Over time the tires get hard and don't let the blade sink in to help them stay in position. The tires are part number 41815, and the cost is around $13.00.
The availability of the tires is questionable. If they show no longer available for ordering, go to the internet and search for an aftermarket tire.If you have not replaced these tires before, it takes a lot to stretch the tire enough to go around the wheel. It usually requires to people to hold and rotate the wheel while the tires are being stretched over the wheel.Join this conversation.
