This sounds like a force adjustment. As the opener ages it needs more power to do the same function.
You will need a small flat head screw driver for this part. On the motor head, either the back(single light) or the side(double light) you will find two colored screws. They are not the ones that are recessed into the machine. They stick out. One controls the up force and one controls the down force. Find the one that indicates down and turn it up, or with the arrow indicated, 1/8 turn. Then try to run it. If it still does not go try another 1/8 turn. You should never turn it up all the way. And do a 2x4 safety reversal test afterwards. If this does not fix your problem you may need a new logic board, or something is messing with the safety sensors. Check them too. Thanks BBMember
