ONE OF MY GARAGE DOOR REMOTE QUIT WORKING. I PROGRAM IT, IT WORKS, THE OTHER REMOTE QUITS & VISA VER

my garage door opener is craftsman model no. 139.53661SRT3. the remote controls model no. 139.53681B. the push buttons color is blue. The remotes worked ok for 10m years. all of a sudden one remote quit working. when i reprogram it, it starts working again but the other remote quits working and visa versa. I also erased the codes and reprogrammed the remotes again. same results. so we know that both remotes are ok. could the problem be with the reciever?

This is a common problem and can be fixed. You will need a new logic board for your unit. This is the brains of your unit. It controls and monitors all the functions on the opener. When you replace the board you will need to unplug the unit. You won't need to reset the travel limits but you will need to reset the force limits. A good indication of where they need to be is to look at the old one. Also you need to recode all devices programmed to the unit. We recommend surge protectors on all openers, 900 joules or higher. Alot of times problems like these stem from a surge(lights go out and come back on). These are less than 10 dollars a piece. All of these products can be found at sears.com. Make sure and do a 2x4 safety reversal test after any adjustments. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
