How do I purchase a replacement garage door opener with the old (grey) remote controller?

I own two Sears garage door openers and need to replace one. The newer units work on a different frequency but I am told I can purchase a new opener with the old (grey button) contoller so I can continue to operate both openors from the same remote. How do I get the old frequency controller on a new unit?

You cannot buy an opener with the old remotes, only the new frequency machines.

To solve this problem though what you can do is buy the new unit on the new frequency and then buy a specialty remote.

Clicker made by Chamberlain has a dual frequency 2 button remote that would serve this purpose. They also have outside keypads. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
