The outside of the garage door bubbles and peels after two years after painting. The inside door doesn't do this. The garage door is made of a heavy fiberboard type material. I scrape the door befire painting, use a oil-based paint and primer but the door still bubbles. What paint and primer should i use.
Sometimes it is not the paint but the color. If it is a dark color it is inevitable. Most door companies don't manufacture dark colored doors anymore because of this very problem.
If you are painting it light and still having this problem, you might try an acrylic. For most people we suggest just plain old latex based outdoor paint. But if you are having trouble, the heat and cold experienced by the outside is more extreme than the inside. You may want to look in to a different kind of material to paint. Thanks BBMember
