Why does my Craftsman garage door opener go down but then come right back up?
I have a Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener model 13953910. It goes down but then comes right back up. How do I correct the problem?

Pull the emergency release and check for any unusual resistance at the bottom of the door travel. If the door is binding up at the bottom, it will reverse. The images below are from pages 27 and 28 or your owner's manual. If you find no binding in the door, then it is likely that your down travel or down force will need to be adjusted. Adjusting one or both of these settings will likely resolve this problem.
