Why did my garage door opener start opening on its own even with the door control disconnected?

I followed the trouble shooting guide and disconnected the door control. The door keeps opening. What should I do at this point to fix it?

Without a model number, I am limited to providing you with the following general tips:

  • Erase all of the codes in the memory of your garage door opener motor unit by using the LEARN or SRT button on the control panel of the motor unit.
  • Reprogram the wall control and all of the remotes.
Erasing all of the codes and reprogramming all of the remotes may fix this problem. If not, you may need to change the batteries in the remotes and then erase and reprogram the wall unit and all of the remotes again.

If these tips don't help, resubmit your question with additional details including the model number of your garage door opener.
