Before the remote was fixed, the manual keypad was how we opened the door, but since the learn button reprogrammed the remote, the manual keypad does not work. The directions on the keypad say to enter the current code ( before I can do anything else ), but it does not recognise the current code. I am at a loss as to how to reprogram the KEYPAD now. Thank you
By pushing the learn button all you did was open the receiver to accept new devices, IE remotes, home link or keyless entries.
It sounds like you might of erased all devices when you programmed the remote. This is easy to do if you hold the learn button down just a fraction too long. To reprogram the keypad push the learn button, like you would a door bell(length of time). You then have 30 seconds to enter the 4 digit code on the keypad and then push the up/down button on the keypad. The light bulb should flash once. This tells you that the opener has accepted the keypad. You need not worry about the old code or entering it at any time during this process. There are times when the receiver malfunctions and will only accept one or two devices. This is mainly caused by surges(when your lights go off and then back on). We recommend surge protectors on all openers, 900 joules or better. If your system malfunctions after this with the same or similiar problems you will need a new logic board that has a new receiver in it. This can be found at sears.com BBMember
