I am unable to program my garage door remote. The transmitter light comes on but doesn't flash.

The manual says hold button down, when it flashes the remote will be programed. The light does come on but doesn't flash. The door works from the wall button, but not from the remote. I have put new batteries in. Do I need a new mother board?

A model number would be helpful.

I will give you the most common way to program most of them.

There will be a colored learn button on the motor head. Press this button and within 30 seconds press the button on the remote. If the light bulb flashes it has been programmed. As far as a new board, I would explore the option that the remote might be bad first. If the remote works only to raise but not lower the door, then this is a different problem. BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
