Where does the clutch return spring connect on my tractor?
i have a model 917.259573 mower w/a broken clutch return spring.

The clutch return spring will stretch from the clutching idler bracket up over the front axle, then will hook into a slot beside the muffler. It will be a sort of oval slot cut into the top of the frame and it's right beside the muffler. I recommend using some thin strong rope (like a pull cord from a pushmower) to stretch the spring through there to the slot. Otherwise, it can be a pretty hard job to complete.
