Sears Craftsman Model 917.259572
I whole lot of patience is needed to do this. The slightly more time consuming way (and honestly easier), is to remove the top engine shroud and flywheel. There is another way to do it, but there have been many thumbs/fingers almost sliced off trying to do it. Mine being one of them. Save yourself the pain and headache and take the flywheel off. Then you will be looking right down at the starter bolts and you can take the starter right off the machine. Also, just so you know, It almost requires a special hand made 1/2" wrench to remove the starter without taking off the flywheel. And putting it back can be an even bigger nightmare.
