The best way to check to see if the limit switches are good is to open the cover to expose the motor and electronics. You will find the limit switches there. They are 3 white plastic screws. If the middle trolley travels to the stop limit and you see copper touch copper then the actual switch is bad. If it can't go make contact before it bottoms out on the motor head then turn the screw to make it stop before that. Then fine tune it. If the whole carriage(all white screws) is defective then you can order that too at sears.com. One other thought look on top of the motor at the actual cog that the chain goes around. If it is tilted at all or damaged then this will affect the the function in the same way too. This assembly can also be ordered. BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
