Garage door opener remotes or key pad won't work when it rains, works fine otherwise and with button

Garage door openers or key pad won't work when it rains outside. They work fine when it's clear out and the wall button works fine too. It is a Craftsman 1/2 hp 315 Mhz Model # 319.53910D about 2 years old. Replaced batteries in remotes but that did not work. any ideas what might be wrong?

If you are having problems with the door coming down when it rains, this might be a safety sensor problem. Some times if they get saturated with moisture, there after when it is moist around it they can act funny. The best way to know if it is the problem is if it won't go down with any thing but holding the wall station button down until it closes. The sensors should be 7-8 inches off the ground. If this is the problem then you will need new sensors. You can go to sears.com or your local sears to get replacement parts. Have the model number ready. Also check the down and up force settings. They should be adjusted about 1/2 of the adjustment setting. You can turn them all the way up and then down and then find the "middle" and set there. Make sure and do a 2x4 safety reversal test after any adjustments. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
