How do I "ground" my in-ground pool?

I was told I need to ground (electrically) the pool. I realize I have to ground everything metal and such with copper wire. The thing I don't know is where on the pool pump do I attach this copper wire? I've looked online and the only thing I've found is, "and then attach to the pump". Where?!? Need help!

The wiring feeding to the pump should have a ground wire. This will connect to a screw on the pump housing where the wiring attaches to the pump. The other end of the wire should be attached to the grounding bar of the electrical panel to complete the "grounding" of this circuit.

A reputable pool builder should have "grounded" your pool as it got built. A copper wire should have been wired to the shell and around the pool before it got plastered. Then that wire would run to the pump equipment area and to the panel.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
