My battery won't charge so i can use my key Do I need a new one if so where do I get it?
craftsman model 917.376470. I have tried to charge the battery several times. 24 hours and 48 hours. The electric key still won't work.

I would recommend having a technician look at your mower. It's very possible the battery is fine and it's something else. Make sure you check all the connections to be sure they're all connected tightly and securely.
