My garage door opener will not reprogram. Any ideas

I am following the directions in the owners manual, but when trying to reprogram and I press and release the SRT button, the activity light stays on rather than blink and does not accept the code.

Alot of the newer gdo's led light do stay on rather than blink before they learn the code. After pressing the learn button on the gdo press the button on the remote you want to operate the door.

If this does not program the unit you have either battery issues in the remote or you have a circuit board problem. Obviously you want to replace the battery first and retry. If it still won't program you more than likely have board problems. You can order a new one at Sears.com. I would also recommend a surge protector of 900 joules as well. Weather you fix this one or get a new one. Also do a 2x4 safety reversal test once you are done. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
