how to change code on garage door opener outside

This is for a craftsman/liftmaster/chamberlain. Next time more info would be nice.
Have all the remotes on hand. Find the colored learn button on the back(single light) or side(double light) of the motor. Press and hold the button until the led light goes out. This erases the old code out. Press the learn button and then the button on the remote that you want to operate the door, the light bulb will flash once. This means the motor has learned the remote. Do this for all remotes.For the keypad, first press the learn button and then input the 4 digit number you want as your code and then press the up/down button on the keypad, the light bulb should flash. Wait 1 min and then try the code and the up/down button. Thanks BBJoin this conversation.
