Have Craftman3/4HP screwdrive GDO model 139.53925DS. Where along rail do I cut to shorten rail?
I have Craftman 3/4HP screw drive GDO model 139.53925DS. Where along rail do I cut to shorten the rail? The old GDO and the space I have is 117 inches. I was told it easy to shorten a screw driven GDO rail but need to know where to do the cut. Do I cut all 8 inches from one piece of the rail or do I cut a few inches from each segment of the rail? If its one cut do I cut the header end of the rails or the back end of the rail (where the motor is attached)? Please help me identify where to cut the rail to shorten the GDO. Thanks!!

Only cut the end that will attach to the header., then re-drill for the bracket that attaches there. BB
