There is white smoke and oil coming out of the muffler on my 675 series mower. Why?

The model is 917.377011, serial 010808M00713. I think there was too much oil added to the mower

Check the oil level of the mower and make sure it is correct now. Remove and clean the spark plug. While the spark plug is removed, pull the starter rope 10-12 times. This will blow any excess oil out of the cylinder. The mower might smoke for a few minutes when you start it and the muffler will smoke longer until it burns off the oil in and on it.

I agree with you that the mower was overfilled with oil.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
