Door operates smoothly once rolled up and down with hand-it is recently lubricated as late as 5 days ago with lith. based grease and spray lubricant on to the tracks-per recent answer i increased the power for the down action by one degree-it only worked a 2~3 days now it does the same-if i keep the button pushed it wont make a diff and just stays frozen-no problem when coming up-problem persists only in the down mode-same symptom occured about 1.5 month ago and went away after lubrication-this time lubricated it too and even cleaned the tracks & sprayed PTFE lubricant into the tracks-NEED HELP looks like there may be some alignment-do have a green / red light on the sensors at the bottom-HELP Please
Instead of pulling on the door from the bottom try pushing it from the top. Sometimes the door is the problem and only when you push as the gdo pushes on it can you tell. One other thing to look at is the down travel trip. This is located on the far end of the boom, all the way up by the header. It it will be metal and plastic. If it is not a genie accelerator then it will have a little black plastic piece that when the draw bar goes all the way down. This tells the door when to stop Check the wires to that and also make sure the two copper pieces are not touching or almost touching. This could be telling your door to stop too early. One other thought how far did you turn the down force? Genie gdo's do have 1 green and 1 red light on opposite sensors. Try it all the way and work backwards if it does help. BB
A light beam fixed to the wall on each side of the door kicks it back if a kid or something gets under it while coming down. If anything (leaf, dust, ...) gets on either beam lens it'll do that. Too if either side gets hit and knocked out of alignment with the other side it'll do that. Not hard to adjust, think a green light shows when it's in adjustment.
