It depends on the type of planting and weeding system you plan to use. Make the paths between the rows a good 18" wide if you plan to use the tiller to weed. I like to make wide planting beds, about 3 feet across, and plant several rows of plants within each bed. This is a more efficient use of space than single rows with paths on each side. At this width, it's easy to reach into the wide bed from each side to weed and harvest, without stepping in the bed and compacting the soil.
