I own a Craftsman garage door opener model 139.53963srt. It will not open or close anymore. What part do I need to order to repair it?
The screw drive is working but there is a loud noise that sounds like it is stripped. Door will not open or close.

The part you need to replace is the rack. The part number for the rack is 81C168, the cost is around $15.00.
The rack is the part the trolley attaches to on the rail. It engages with the teeth on the screw drive and moves the door when the trolley is engaged.You might try disengaging and engaging the trolley several times. something might have gotten disconnected between the screw drive and the trolley.Join this conversation.
