It would be a good time to replace the battery.

There will be a "learn" button on the back(single light) or side(double light). It should be the only button on the motor you can actually push. After you push the button a little led light by it should on and off steady. You have 30 seconds to input the 4 digit code into the key pad, and then press the up/down action button below the numbers. The light bulb on the motor should blink on then off, and this tells you that it received the input. Press the up/down button again to run the door. If the light bulb does not blink then try again after 5 minutes. If still no blink(make sure to have a new battery in) then you need a new key pad. They can be purchased on sears.com or at your local sears. After any adjustment you should do a 2x4 safety reversal test. Thanks BB
