How do I remove the blade adapter on a walk behind lawn mower?

Take the blade bolt and blade off the machine. The adapter should just slide right off the shaft. If it does not, it's just got some corrosion keeping it on. Take a small hammer and tap on the sides of the adapter while you pull on it with the other hand. It should pop free and come on off. When you put it back, put some grease on the shaft or some anti-seize. That will prevent that kind of problem in the future.
