What is causing the remotes on my garage door opener to not work outside the garage?

The door button works perfectly. The remote keypad will not work the door either. My wife's car has a built in garage door opener and it doesn't work either. I replaced batteries on everything. Like I said before the remote will open and close it, but not outside of the garage.

More than likely something has changed around your house (maybe next door even) that is causing interference with the receiver board. It could be anything from a light fixture to wireless internet router causing it. If you can think of anything that you recently got or started using that's electrical that may be the cause. And really, it could very well be something at a neighbors house. If you cannot figure out what might be causing the issue, I'd recommend having an external antenna installed on your opener to see if that fixes it.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
