I have Sears garage door opener 139.53960SRT and the sender voltage is low at 6V. Any ideas?

I eliminated short by removing sender and receiving wires and measuring directly at terminals in back of door opener.

The sending unit should be operating at 9v. If you are certain there is no short in the wiring than you need a new set of photo eyes for your gdo. They can be purchased at your nearest sears or at sears.com.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
