How do you replace the starter rope on a Model #316.292710 4 cycle cultivator/edger?
I could not pry the assembly apart and is there spring that will be hard to put back together. I just need to replace the starter rope.

I recommend you replace the complete starter assembly. this cultivator has an "Incredi-pull" start system. If something is worn inside the starter assembly and you replace the starter rope, it will break again fairly soon. The starter assembly is part number 753-05075 and is available from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .
You can also view a parts breakdown of the cultivator that might help on the reassembly. The image below contains a parts breakdown.There are 4 screws that hold the assembly to the engine.
