The Stanley 7200 unit will only hum and the chain doesn't move. After 15 seconds, the hum stops and the lights begin to flash. The door operates easily manually and no obstructions noticed. The battery in the remote was replaced and wiring all looks to be intact. Prior to this problem, the battery died in the remote transmitter and I replaced it. The opener has not functioned properly since then.
Information on Stanley garage door openers is extremely limited due to the company that manufactured them being out of business. The image below shows a page from the owner's manual that describes troubleshooting. It provides an explanation for blinking light codes on a Stanley model. This may help explain why your garage door opener will not open the door. If the lights are blinking in a pattern that indicates the door beam sensors are not aligned, try operating the door by holding down the wall control button. If the door operates then you could have wiring problem or a failed beam sensor.
If you are able to find your original owner's manual, it may have more troubleshooting information that pertains to your particular model.Member
